The Hollis Family
"The Club gave my brother a second family in 1962. I want to make sure another child gets that same chance long after I'm gone."
Shape the future of our kids and community.
The Heritage Club is established by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington to provide recognition for individuals who support our mission by including the Club in their estate plan.

The Club gave my brother a second family in 1962. Including the Heritage Club in our will was the easiest way to make sure another kid gets that same chance.

About the Heritage Club
Since 1956, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington have been a steady presence in the lives of Monroe County children — a place where kids learn, lead, belong, and become. The Heritage Club honors the men and women who carry that mission forward through their estate plans.
Members include the Club in their will, name us as a beneficiary, or establish a life-income gift. There is no minimum and no obligation — only an intention, shared with us, to plant something that outlasts a lifetime.

The Heritage Tree
Each colorful leaf on the Heritage Tree represents a donor who has made a planned gift to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington. Together they form a canopy of generosity that will shade Bloomington's kids for generations.
When you join the Heritage Club, your family's name takes its place on the tree.
Ways to Give
Planned giving is not one path but many. Below is a survey of the most common options. Your financial advisor and our giving team can help you choose the right one.
Stock
Avoid paying capital gains tax on the sale of appreciated stock and receive a charitable income tax deduction while benefiting the Club.
IRA Rollover
Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to the club to help continue our important work.
Real Estate
Avoid paying capital gains tax on the sale of the real estate and receive a charitable income tax deduction based on the value of the gift, while benefiting the Club.
Will / Trust
With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift be made to family, friends or the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington as part of your estate plan.
Beneficiary Designation
Designate the Club as a beneficiary of a retirement, investment or bank account or your life insurance policy.
Life Insurance
By naming the Club as a beneficiary, once the policy matures, the proceeds of your policy will be paid to our organization so that we can use the proceeds to further our mission.
Charitable Gift Annuities
You transfer cash or property to Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington — in exchange, we promise to pay fixed payments to you for life. The payment can be quite high depending on your age, and a portion may be tax-free.
Charitable-Remainder Unitrust
The trust is invested to pay income to you or any trust beneficiaries you select for a term of up to 20 years or life. The Club benefits from what remains after all trust payments.
Life Estate
Deed your home or farm to the Club. The deed includes a provision giving you the right to use your home or farm for the rest of your life.
Charitable Lead Trust
Contribute property to fund a trust that pays the Club income for a number of years. After a period of time, your family receives the trust assets plus any additional growth.
Heritage 70 · 2026 Campaign
In honor of our seventieth anniversary, we are inviting seventy families to formally join the Heritage Club by December 31, 2026.
